Traveling with a small group of 12 or fewer travelers offers a more intimate and authentic experience. Our goal is to help you connect with the real essence of the country—its people, culture, and everyday life—beyond the typical tourist stops.

With fewer travelers, we’re able to maintain a relaxed pace, remain flexible with the itinerary, and even accommodate special interests or local events as they arise. You’ll still see the iconic landmarks, but you’ll also discover the unexpected highlights that make a journey truly memorable.

Are all of your group trips to Africa?

No, our trips will be to destinations all over the world.  We will be offering opportunities for travel to Europe, Asia, South American, North America, Australia, and even Antartica!  There will even be some domestic trips offered within the United States.

Our trips are open to travelers of all ages—from 12 and up—and from all walks of life. Whether you're a solo adventurer, part of a couple, a family, a group of friends, a teacher, student, retiree, or professional, you’ll find yourself in great company.

Our guests are typically curious, engaged, and fun-loving individuals who seek meaningful experiences beyond the usual tourist path—all while enjoying comfort and safety.

Please note: many of our itineraries include moderate walking, sometimes on uneven terrain. If you have mobility concerns, we’re happy to discuss options to ensure the trip is a good fit for you.

Can Solo travelers join your tours?

Yes, solo travelers can join our tours.  It’s one of the ways you can meet friends and feel safe, all while experiencing the specific destination chosen.

Will I have free time?

Absolutely. While we have a full itinerary, we always build in time to relax, explore, or recharge at your own pace.

Will all of your trips be small groups of 12 travelers or less?

No, there will be some trips that may be slightly higher than 12, but most likely 15 will be the maximum.

Will we be in a small group during all events, activities, tours, and excursions on the trip?

No, some of our events and activities, as well as some of our walking tours and day trips beyond the city center may be enjoyed with a larger group, giving you the chance to meet new people and share the adventure with fellow explorers.

Do you allow children on your trips?

We allow children 12 years old and older at the time of the trip.

What type of accommodations can I expect?

Our accommodations strike the perfect balance between comfort and value, featuring well-appointed rooms with modern amenities, warm hospitality, and a relaxing space after your daily adventures.

Booking and Payments

I want to book a trip, but I don’t have a passport.  Can I still book?

Sure, you can still book, but we advise that you apply for your passport as soon as possible.  Depending on the date of the trip, you may want to pay to have it expedited.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We offer interest-free monthly payments to make your trip more accessible.

What’s included in the price?

Most packages include accommodations, in-country transportation, guided tours, some meals, park entry fees, and more. Flights may or may not be included depending on your package (land-only or land + air)..

Are there pre-trip group meetings or information sessions?

Yes!  Before we take off, join us for a series of casual, informative Zoom meetings where we’ll cover all the essential details and answer your questions. These virtual gatherings are a great way to:

• Meet your fellow travelers

• Review the itinerary and daily activities

• Go over packing tips and travel documents

• Discuss cultural etiquette and local customs

• Cover health, safety, and insurance info

• Share excitement and get travel-ready!

We’ll send out invites with dates and links ahead of time—just bring your questions and your excitement!

Once booked, when will I receive the final trip itinerary?

The trip itinerary will be provided at least 20 days before the departure date.  Please keep in mind that modifications may be made by our suppliers and tour operators, but the initial itinerary that you received should not change much.

Is travel insurance required?

No, but travel insurance is highly recommended for all travelers. It provides essential protection in case of trip cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, or unexpected delays. We recommend choosing a policy that includes both medical coverage abroad and trip interruption/cancellation protection to safeguard your travel investment. Proof of coverage may be requested prior to departure.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Deposit and all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable due to commitments made to our local vendors. We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment.

Travel Questions

Are flights included in the package?

Flights are included only if you book the land & air package. If you choose a land-only option, you’ll be responsible for booking your own flights to meet the group at the destination.

Are airport transfers included?

Airport transfers are included only if you have booked the land & air package. For travelers booking land-only packages and arranging their own flights, transfers are not provided, but we’re happy to assist with recommendations.

What should I do if I have travel delays or missed connections?

If you experience travel delays or miss a connection, immediately contact your airline’s customer service department.  They can assist with rebooking on the next available flight or providing alternative arrangements. It’s essential to keep all relevant booking information and travel insurance details handy to check if you’re entitled to compensation or hotel accommodations in case of significant delays.

How can I avoid jet lag while traveling overseas?

To minimize jet lag, try to gradually adjust your sleep schedule a few days before your trip, stay hydrated, and avoid caffeine or alcohol during your flight. Once you arrive, try to spend time in natural daylight to help your body adjust to the local time zone.
